Authenticity: Crafts of Civilization was a landmark art exhibition that brought together Egyptian visual artists with leading artists from two influential Arab countries: the United Arab Emirates and the Kuwait. The exhibition stood as a cultural bridge, highlighting shared heritage, artistic dialogue, and creative cooperation across the Arab world.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister of Egypt, in the presence of representatives from the Embassy of Kuwait in Egypt and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Egypt. The opening ceremony was attended by a wide audience of media professionals, journalists, and cultural figures, emphasizing the significance of the event on both artistic and diplomatic levels.
Held in May 2023, the exhibition took place in the prestigious Prince Mohamed Ali Palace, specifically inside the Golden Hall—an architectural space rich in history, symbolism, and artistic value. The choice of venue reinforced the exhibition’s core concept: celebrating authenticity, craftsmanship, and the continuity of civilization through visual art.
As part of its broader cultural vision, the exhibition extended beyond the palace walls and continued its activities at Cairo Tower. This extension aimed to connect art with iconic Egyptian landmarks and support domestic tourism, positioning visual art as a tool for cultural activation and public engagement.
Spanning five days, the exhibition showcased a diverse collection of artworks that explored traditional crafts, heritage symbols, and contemporary interpretations of civilization. Each participating artist reflected the identity of their homeland while contributing to a unified narrative of Arab cultural exchange and mutual respect.
