Egyptian and Arab Identity at the Venice International Art
Venice International Art Fair - December 2024
In December 2024, Egypt participated in the Venice International Art Fair, held in Venice, Italy, for a duration of three weeks. The exhibition represented a significant international presence for Egyptian and Arab visual art within one of the world’s most historically rich centers of art and culture.
The participation included 35 visual artists representing Egypt and the Arab world, coming from six different nationalities. Through diverse artistic practices, the exhibition presented both Egyptian and Arab identity, highlighting heritage, traditions, and cultural narratives that are deeply rooted in history yet expressed through contemporary visual language.
For many visitors, this exhibition marked a first encounter with Egyptian and Arab contemporary visual art in such depth.
